With winter slowly winding down and coming to an end, we're approaching spring fast which means one thing... time for Daylight Savings!  Time for longer days!  This Sunday we don't fall back, we spring forward and below is a quick checklist to make sure you are ready for the hour change.

1. Check ALL of the batteries!

This is an easy one, but, don't forget to check and change all batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. If you can't reach them, be sure to have someone help you up onto a step stool in order to change the batteries out. Swap out new batteries and make sure they all work!

2. Change ALL of the clocks

This one seems pretty straight forward, but make yourself a checklist of all the clocks in your home that you know you need to update. Be sure to change the time an hour forward in the following: alarm clocks, watches, wall clocks, microwaves, ovens, stoves, refrigerators, and HERE.  As a heads up your cellphone, laptop, desktop computer, smart watch and cable box will automatically change.

3. Clean while you're at it

Since you'll be going around checking batteries and changing times, its the perfect time to also wipe things down. Be sure to grab a microfiber cloth and wipe down any clocks or number pads on any home appliances!  This is also a great place to slowly kick off your #SpringCleaning, but we'll get to that later.

4. Keep an eye on your pets!

It may sound silly but keep an eye on your pets. They may have a specific schedule for sleeping and eating, but the shift in time may affect them. Just keep an eye on them and make sure they're handling the time change!

5. Enjoy the longer days

Sure you're losing an hour of sleep seems like a dread, but on the flip side days are getting longer so... get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather and longer days! Go exploring!
